BUSINESS BRIEFS: LG launches home theater system

KATHMANDU, July 19: LG -- a premier name in style and functionality in consumer electronics and home appliance segment -- has launched a new range of home theaters and DVD players. Issuing a press statement Monday, the company said it launched the new model considering the fact that the demand for electronic products in the domestic market is in significantly increasing trend for the past few years. LG has added two new model of home theater systems and three models of DVD players in its product category. "HT-924 (1200 Watt) and HT-604SK (600 W) applicable models are the two new models in home theater category with multiple playback, semi karaoke function and built-in dolby digital, dolby pro logic II and DTS decoder," the statement added. While three new DVD players with FM tuner -- DV-456P, DV- 426P and DD-447P -- are super slim design that are believed to stand out in DVD players product category, the statement added.



Laxmi Hyundai distributes prizes



Laxmi Intercontinental, the official partner of Hyundai for Nepal, Monday distributed prizes to all the winners of Laxmi Hyundai World Cup Prediction Game. The company sent two lucky draw winners -- Rameshwor Rijal and Babujan Thapa -- to South Africa to watch the final match of the FIFA World Cup 2010. A total of 2,500 persons regularly logged on to the website to play the prediction game organized by Laxmi Hyundai. Sudhishna KC received replica of the World Cup trophy and 40-inch Samsung LCD TV as the first prize. Simiarly, the company gave away 32-inch Samsung LCD TV to second price winner Anil Bajracharya and HP Compaq laptop as third prize to Ashmiata KC. Parimal Koirala, Dristy Pandey, Subin Lal Dangol and Ashish Gurung won Samsung Corby each for correctly predicting the best player, top scorer, best goalkeeper and winning team in the FIFA World Cup 2010, the statement added.



Westar launches new promotional scheme



Westar Properties has come up with ´Mauka Ma Chauka´ -- a sales promotion scheme for Westar Residency. Issuing a press statement, the company said the interested buyers can take part in the scheme by depositing Rs 100,000 for booking. As per the scheme, one amongst the 50 buyers shall win an apartment free of cost through a lucky draw. "This means, one among the 50 buyers can be the proud winner of the apartment," the statement added. Westar Properties, a member of Golyan Group, has already started construction of Westar Residency value apartments at Balkumari, one of the prime areas in close proximity to the Patan city core, international airport, hospitals and education foundations, the statement added. "The construction of two basements of ´Tower 1´ has been completed and the works are going on in full swing," the statement said, adding that the project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2012.
