The victim, who was found unconscious, has been admitted to Narayani Sub-regional Hospital in Birgunj for treatment. The eighth grader was raped by the Yadav brothers at her maternal aunt´s home. She had reached her aunt´s home for Pidia, a festival in the Tarai, in which sisters wish for the wellbeing of their brothers.[break]
“She had gone to an alley to relieve herself and did not return for a long time. When we searched for her she was found lying unconscious in the field nearby the house,” added the maternal aunt.
“There were two men. They forcibly took me to a nearby field and raped me,” said the victim girl, adding, “I recognized Kailash Yadav, who is from my own village. But I could not see the other´s face in the dark.”
According to victim´s uncle, Kailash and his brother have been absconding since the night. Police said investigation into the incident is on. “We have sent the victim to the hospital for medical test. The case is sensitive,” said SP Pitambar Adhikari.
