KATHMANDU, Sept 5: 1974 AD, the country’s premier rock band will be on their European tour from the September 5 to 18. The tour marks their first foreign tour after the release of their 8th album “Aath Athara” last year.

However, there’s more to the tour than just music; alongside entertainment, there’s a social cause attached to it, too.[break]

The proceeds from the “Finale for Nepal” show at Genoa City, Italy, on September 10, will be channeled towards building a school.

“We the band members are very excited and looking forward to this tour, and through our music we can share some time, happiness and good times with the Nepalis living abroad and also raise funds for a good cause,” said Sanjay Shrestha, drummer 1974 AD.

The performances are spread across Italy and Scandinavia; they’ll be performing in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, and later in Oslo, Norway.

“We’re very glad and honored that 1974 AD, a prominent band from Nepal, have agreed to be a part of the festival and alongside support a good cause. We’re very much looking forward to seeing them here in Italy,” expressed Carlo Mamberto, the festival organizer.

Around 2,000 people are expected to turn out for the festival. The band members informed that they will be playing hit numbers from their past albums as well as songs from their latest album “Aath Athara.”
