KATHMANDU, Feb 23: National Assembly member Bamdev Gautam has suggested former King Gyanendra Shah to give up his dream of becoming king again and instead contest in the 2084 BS elections. Speaking in the meeting of the National Assembly on Sunday, Gautam suggested Shah to open a democratic political party and participate in the elections.

“You should give up your desire to become king again and open a democratic political party under your leadership and register it with the Election Commission,” said Gautam, “After some time, participate in the elections to be held in 2084 BS and become the Prime Minister from the parliament after being elected.”

In another context, Gautam said that the destruction of the dynasty of King Mahendra and Birendra was caused by members of the royal family itself.

“The person who killed Mahendra in the Diyalo Bangala in Chitwan was also a member of the royal family,” he said, “Then, the person who destroyed the dynasty of King Birendra and his dynasty was also a member of the royal family.”
