KATHMANDU, May 9: At least 2,040 persons including 442 females were held for violating the lockdown orders in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday.
Of them, 1,807 were arrested in Kathmandu district, 187 in Lalitpur and 46 in Bhaktapur, according to Metro Police. They were arrested between 6 am to 5 pm from various places in the valley.
Likewise, police took under control 510 two-wheelers and 50 four-wheelers from various parts of the valley for breaking the lockdown rules.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bishwaraj Pokharel said that those arrested for breaching the lockdown orders are allowed to go back home only after attending a three-hour class on coronavirus impact.
Meanwhile, the Metro Police, Kathmandu has distributed relief materials to 134 laborers in the Valley in collaboration with the local governments.
