MORANG, Sept. 26: As high as 1,500 goods-loaded Nepalis vehicles have been stranded in Indian side due to delay in customs clearance from the Indian customs officials.

According to chair of Biratnagar Customs Agents' Association Bijendra Parasar, no vehicle has entered into Nepal from last Wednesday. Parasar said that Indian customs officials have refused to work on different pretext.

Chief of Biratnagar Customs Office Krishna Basnet, however, said that Indian side has said that no border obstruction was made to the vehicles from them.

Generally, 150 goods-loaded trucks come to Nepal from India by taking industrial raw materials, foodstuffs, oil and others from the Biratnagar entry point. RSS
