Former US President Jimmy Carter, who passed away at the age of 100 on Sunday, used to go bird watching every time he visited Nepal. Carter, who contributed to bringing Nepal’s peace and democratic process to a logical conclusion, had a completely non-political interest in Nepal.

The first meeting of the South Asian Regional Parliamentary Forum (SARPF), established at the regional level after years of preparations, was held in New Delhi on Wednesday. Dr Sanjay Jaishwal, president of the Indian Climate Parliament, has been elected as the founding president of the SARPF. 

Developing countries say it is insufficient

Negotiators are attempting to finalize a fixed amount for climate finance, while climate activists continue to pressure for an agreement by organizing exhibitions and rallies at the conference venue. 

Not only climate activists and officials involved in the negotiations, but also journalists covering the event have expressed doubts about the conference achieving the expected success.
