KAPILVASTU, May 12:  The District Administration Office (DAO), Kapilvastu has started availing the passport service from 7 am starting from Friday to make the passport delivery service more effective.

Since the number of people filling passport forms is increasing, the service of filling passport forms has been started in two shifts. Administrative officer Nirmal Pokhrel said that arrangements have been made to extend the service time of passports. The office has managed staff to operate the service in two shifts. The first shift starts from 7 AM to 11 AM and second shift from 11 AM to 6.30 PM, according to Chief District Officer Shankar Hari Acharya.

The District Administration Office has been making arrangements for the passport service directly through online application form since May 5. Earlier, the service seekers were complaining that they had to pay between Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 just to fill up the forms outside the DAO.

Before May 5, there was a provision that the service seekers had to submit the form to the office in person. CDO Acharya said that after the complaints were received from the service seekers that filling the passport form outside the DAO was full of hassles and unnecessary expenses, arrangements were made to fill the form free of charge from the office.

The service delivery time has been extended by extending the office hours from 10 AM to 5 PM so that the workload can be managed in one day. Assistant Chief District Officer Anil Paudel said that the office is confident that the service seekers will get the service easily.

Similarly, CDO Acharya said that preparations are being made for the extended service operation of Rastriya Banijya Bank for the convenience of customers. He said that this will also reduce the hassles faced by the service seekers in paying the revenue. Taking into account the pressure of the customers, the DAO had provided citizenship, passport and national identity card even on April 14 (Nepali New Year), May 1 (World Labor Day) and May 5 (Buddha Jayanti). The office has also issued a public notice regarding the provision of services on public holidays other than Saturdays.
