KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority- the anti-graft constitutional body- has directed the Ministry of Labor and Transport Management (MoLTM) to make arrangements for verifying the documents of outgoing Nepali overseas workers at the Labor Desk at Tribhuwan International Airport before the flight boarding process is completed.

Taking to myrepublica.com, Yubraj Pandey, secretary at MoLTM, confirmed the directive from the CIAA and said the ministry will make arrangements for document verification by the Labor Desk before the overseas workers board their plane, in a bid to avoid unnecessary hassles.

“We will discuss the matter with airport officials immediately to implement the directive,” Pandey added.

The CIAA has directed the ministry amid growing complaints that the existing practice of the Labor Desk verifying the documents after completion of the boarding process was impractical.
