Two jailed for bribing attempt

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The Special Court on Wednesday convicted two for trying to bribe Superintendent of Police (SP) Ramesh Kharel last year.



Sunil Kumar Shrestha and Krishna Prasad Jati have been slapped with a prison term for seven days and a fine of Rs 25,000 each.



The duo were arrested with the money, while trying to bribe SP Kharel, for a recommendation for their people to get job in Nepal Police.



A bench comprising of judges Gauri Bahadur Karki, Om Prakash Mishra and Kedar Prasad Chalise issued the verdict.



The duo had been arrested on September 29, 2010.
