KATHMANDU, July 29: Eleven student unions that have been protesting the recent agreement between 13 student unions and Ministry of Education (MoE) to phase out Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) from this year on Thursday locked senior officials of Tribhuvan University (TU) in their respective offices.

Student unions locked TU officials throughout the office time.

According to TU Registrar Bhim Raj Adhikari, student unions met them on the pretext of handing over memorandum.

"They locked us in our rooms after reading out the memorandum," Adhikari said. Student unions had locked TU officials after the latter asserted that they would not review their decision to phase out PCL.
