Min Bahadur Lama, 27, of Dharpa, Barahbise-4 died due to electric shock that he received while he was trying to turn off the main power switch, according to DSP Basanta Lama. He died on the spot. [break]
According to the police officer, Ker Bahadur Lama, 60, Bhim Kumari Lama, 45, and Bimala Lama, 18, Bijay Lama, 16, and Rubendra Lama, 24, of the same locality were injured in the incident.
Ker Bahadur and Bhim Kumari, who were critically injured, have been receiving treatment at Kathmandu-based TU Teaching Hospital. The rest underwent general medical treatment in Chautara.
Likewise, Dambar Shrestha, 22, of Syaule-2 was killed after coming in contact with a high voltage transmission line. Three others have been injured in the incident, all of whom are undergoing treatment in the district headquarters, Chautara.
In Palchowk VDC-1 of the district, Nar Bahadur Giri, 75, was killed after being hit by a bolt of lightning. Giri, who hails form Dubachaur VDC-8, was staying in Sitaram Giri’s house as guest, at the time of the incident. Six others have been injured in the incident.
