This year, 445,974 students appeared for the examinations as regular while 45,974 students were exempted. Only 105 students sat for exams from Manang district--lowest in the country. Similarly, a total of 34,014 students, highest among the 75 districts, sat for examinations from Kathmandu district, according to the Office.
For the examinations, 1,748 examinations centers including 422 in eastern region, 509 in central region, 373 in western region, 269 in mid-western region, and 175 in far western region were arranged.
Each Under-secretary in all 14 zones was assigned for effective monitoring, to stop irregularities and anomalies in the exams.
Despite stern actions announced against the parents, teachers, students, and officials if they were found involved in irregularities, only few were brought to book.
