Shiva Sena bats for constitutional monarchy

BIRATNAGAR, April 1: Shiva Sena Nepal, a Hindu rights group, has said it will fight to reinstate constitutional monarchy in the country. The group also demanded that the 1990 constitution be revived.



“We are even ready to launch an armed struggle to revive constitutional monarchy and Hindu State in the country,” said Arun Subedi, chairman of Shiva Sena Nepal, at a press meet in Biratnagar on Thursday. He also warned that the group would unilaterally declare another new constitution if its demands are not fulfilled.



Subedi claimed three parties in CA also favor constitutional monarchy. He termed the changes of 2006 as a drama.
