During his visit, the president will meet Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on February 16. The same day, he will visit Rajghat to pay homage at the memorial for Mahatma Gandhi.
Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will pay a courtesy call on Yadav and discuss issues of bilateral relations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the ministry, other Indian leaders including Hamid Ansari, the vice-president, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and United People´s Alliance chair Sonia Gandhi will pay courtesy calls on Yadav during the visit.
Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Sarat Singh Bhandari and other high-ranking officials will accompany the president to India.
While Patil will host a state banquet in President Yadav´s honor at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on February 16, Rukma Shumsher Rana, the ambassador of Nepal to India, will host a reception for Yadav on February 17.
Nepal and India will also sign some agreements during the president´s visit. The first to be signed is related to extending five trans-border railway lines.
Similarly, Nepal and India will sign another agreement on establishing a Nepal-India Friendship City Hall in Birgunj while the third is related to setting up of a polytechnic in Hetauda.
President, DM meet
President Yadav held an hour-long meeting with Defense Minister Bidhya Bhandari at Shital Niwas on Sunday. Ministry sources said the defense minister has "requested" the president to ask the Indian side to continue the supply of lethal and non-lethal supplies for Nepal Army.
"The president gave a positive response to the defense minister´s request in this regard," a ministry source said.
