Responding to Ban’s query, PM Bhattarai said he has been trying his best to move ahead forging consensus among political parties back home.
According to the press note, PM Bhattarai also held brief talks with Obama on the country’s peace process during a reception hosted by the US president.
Likewise, PM Bhattarai held a meeting with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse and discussed bilateral cooperation for development of the Lumbini area.
PM Bhattarai also held dialogue with his Bhutanese counterpart Jigmy Y. Thinley on issues related to the Bhutanese refugees.
During the meeting, the Bhutanese PM expressed readiness for repatriation of the refugees after re-verifying the refugees’ status, the press noted said.
Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai also attended the opening of the ‘General Debate’ segment of the General Assembly session, said the press statement issued by Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations.
PM Bhattarai, who is currently in the US to attend to the 66th session of UN General Assembly, will address the assembly on Sept 24. He is scheduled to return home on Sept 26.
