KATHMANDU, June 10: The Public Hearing Special Committee under the Legislature-Parliament on Wednesday, issued a notice calling for complaints against the recommended senior-most justice of the Supreme Court (SC), Kalyan Shrestha as the future chief Justice.
The committee has issued a 10-day notice for the same.

The complainers could file complaints in the committee office Singh Durbar and in all the district administration offices as well.

The committee has further requested the complainers to include the evidences and reasons for not appointing him as the chief justice. The recommended CJ Shrestha will be invited for hearing after collecting complaints, it is learnt.

The Constitutional Council on Tuesday had recommended Shrestha's name as the future chief justice.

The incumbent chief justice Ram Kumar Prasad Shah is retiring on July 9. As per the tradition, the retiring chief justice stays on home leave before a month.

Recommended Shrestha would be appointed as the Chief Justice by the President after the public hearing special committee under the Legislature-Parliament approves his name. RSS
