Passenger van catches fire while traveling, 1 killed

CHITWAN, Feb 14: One person was killed and six others were injured when a passenger van they were traveling on caught fire at Mugling at around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.



The gas-operated van – Ba 5 Cha 8582 – was going to Narayanghat from Kathmandu when all of a sudden fire broke out in the van. [break]



The identity of the deceased is not known yet and the body is kept at the Mugling Area Police Post. His body would be taken to Bharatpur soon, police said.



Four of the injured have been taken to Bharatpur Medical College and two have been taken to Kathmandu for treatment.



The gas in the van might have exploded causing fire, police said.
