One dead in Tusker attack

BARDIYA, Jan 21: Giriraj Pariyar, 32, a resident of Magaragadi VDC -8 of Bardiya district died of elephant attack.



Pariyar was attacked by a wild tusker coming from the Bardiya National Park at 12:00 mid-night on Friday while he was sleeping at home, said park´s Assistant Conservation Officer Ramesh Kumar Thapa. [break]



People of Bhimmapur, Manau, Gola, Shivapur, Magaragadi and other VDCs adjacent to the national park are being the victims of frequent elephant terror.
