Publishing a notice on Tuesday, it invited all shortlisted applicants for interview on December 13 and 14. The CEO Selection Sub-Committee of NTB has requested all 12 candidates to collect letter, which includes topic of presentation, and date and time for presentation and interview, from NTB.A member of the sub-committee told Republica that the candidates will have to make a presentation on 'Revitalizing Tourism in Nepal: Prospects and Challenges' in English language for 30 minutes. The candidates also need to submit both soft and hard copies of their presentation to NTB.
The sub-committee had shortlisted Bhumi Lama, Bishnu G C, Deepak Raj Joshi, Gyanendra Ratna Tuladhar, Gyaneshowr Lal Mahato, Hari Sarmah, Hum Gurung, Lok Bahadur Khatri, Narayan Pradhan, Raghu Bista, Shiva Sharan Thapa and Subash Nirola on September 19, 2011.
The post of CEO has remained vacant since Prachanda Man Shrestha retired from the post on October 31, 2011.
Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, secretary of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, said that ministry was making preparation to make amendment to NTB Act 1997 to ease works at the national tourism organization.
"We have published a notice today and invited all the shortlisted candidates for presentation and interview," Thapaliya, who is also chairman of NTB, said, adding that the process has now moved forward.
Members of the selection committee -- Ghanasyam Upadhyaya, joint secretary at MOCTCA; and NTB board members Rajendra Sapkota and Ghanendra Shrestha - and some experts will also be present in the presentation and interview sessions.
"We will select top three candidates from the 12 shortlisted candidates and recommend the names to the board of directors of NTB. The board will make the final decision," Upadhyaya said.
Daily works of NTB has been affected in the absence of CEO. Tourism entrepreneurs have also been saying that NTB has become inefficient in the absence of CEO.
