“I will not sign any treaty having long-term significance. I will raise issues like energy crisis, trade deficit and investment in Nepal,” said Bhattarai.
The prime minister said he is still hopeful that important decisions on the peace process would be taken within 45 days of his election to the post of prime minister. Bhattarai also accused the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML of not reciprocating his initiatives to conclude the peace process.
“I handed over the weapons containers´ keys to the Special Committee the day after I was elected prime minister. I could have done that alone and I did it. But I alone cannot accomplish other tasks of the peace process,” Bhattarai said.
