The Committee has handed over Rs 562,395 to Nepal's Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay to deposit in the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund, reads a press statement by Committee Chair Bal Krishna Pandey.
Pandey said that relief materials worth IRs 1.2 million from northeast region of India were sent to the quake-hit communities via Consulate General of Nepal in Kolkata while the materials worth IRs 600,000 were sent from Bhopal. Pandey added that relief materials worth IRs 230,000 were also sent after collecting in northwest part of neighbouring country.
Likewise, the materials worth IRs 1.7 million collected from northern part of India were sent via the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi to the earthquake affected communities. The Committee said the relief materials were distributed in Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Dhading, Nuwakot, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and other districts.
The Committee said that a campaign would be launched across India in the second phase for fundraising to support the victims' resettlement move. RSS
