Nepali trader commits suicide in Hong Kong

HONG KONG, Jan 30: Kumar Lamichhane (Biswokarma), 55, a gold trader who owned businesses in Nepal, UK and Hong Kong, was found hanging from a tree in Kam San Country Park, Monkey Hill Jungle, Hong Kong on Tuesday.



According to the Hong Kong police, Kumar´s body was unfastened in the presence of family members. He had been missing since last Friday. Family members are planning to take Kumar´s body to Nepal after completing legal procedures.[break]



According to Prakash, one of Kumar´s closest friends and director of Sanskriti Jewelers, Kumar had opened a jewelry shop in Hong Kong only six months ago and was planning to set up another shop in Japan. Kumar had expanded his business in different cities of Nepal as well as abroad. He had employed more than 700 persons.



Quoting local police, Apple Daily, a local newspaper in Hong Kong, had said that Kumar had told his wife that he was about to commit suicide.



Businessmen close to Kumar said he had married for the second time in Hong Kong.
