Nepal Army opens nursing school

KATHMANDU, April 27: The Nepal Army (NA) has officially opened its Institute of Health and Science, Nursing School, located at Mahankal, Newroad.

Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Chhatra Man Singh Gurung inaugurated the health institute amid a function in the capital Friday.[break]

The proficiency certificate level nursing course was started from November 27, 2011 and B Sc and Post-basic Bachelor´s nursing courses was started from December 13 last year.

The NA has set Rs 320,000 as fee for three-year PCL nursing course, Rs 7,60,000 for four-year B.SC course and Rs. 3,30,000 for two-year PBBN course, according to a press statement issued by Directorate of Public Relations of NA.

At present, 102 students -- 33 from military and 69 from non-military -- from various districts are pursuing nursing courses at the NA health institute.
