Kathmandu June 14: Former Prime minister and senior Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba returned home on Friday wrapping up his six-day official visit to India.
“The fresh Constituent Assembly elections would make the people sovereign. So let’s have elections,” Deuba told to reporters at the Tribhuwan International Airport. Deuba said he would hold talks with the disgruntled parties including Mohan Baidhya-led CPN Maoist and Upendra Yadav-led Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum. [break]
“I will talk to Baidhyaji and Upendraji. They have to take part in the elections,” he said. During his stay in the Indian Capital New Delhi he held series of meetings with Indian leaders including the president of the United Progressive Alliance, Sonia Gandhi, Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Minister for External Affairs Salman Khursid.
Meanwhile, senior leader of the CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has left for Delhi this afternoon on a-four day visit. Talking to reporters at airport, leader Oli said that his visit would be purely personal as he is visiting India for his health check-up.
