Minister Rijal loses hope

ITAHARI, April 11: Minister for Federal Affairs, Constituent Assembly, Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Minendra Rijal on Sunday claimed it is not possible to promulgate the constitution by May 28.



Speaking at a press meeting organized by Nepal Press Union in Itahari, Rijal blamed Maoists for creating unfavorable condition for constitution writing.



UCPN-Maoist has not been civilian party. It has been in the only mission to capture the power organizing various city centered activities violating the Comprehensive Peace Accord and 12-point agreement, he said. He said it should be clear whether Maoists desires the power or constitution.



He said CPN-UML put various conditions to Maoists such as to dissolve Young Communist League (YCL), return seized property and give up desire for semi-armed structure in the party to way out the forming of national government with UCPN-Maoist.



NC and other political parties in coalition government also have supported them for creating political consensus, said Rijal.
