Mahara taken to public prosecutor’s office

KATHMANDU, March 18: Former Speaker and Maoist Center Vice Chairman Krishna Bahadur Mahara, who was arrested in connection with gold smuggling, has been brought to the District Government Attorney’s Office, Kathmandu.

He was taken to the public prosecutor's office, Ram Shah Path, before being taken to the court to seek permission for extension.

Mahara was arrested by the police from Kapilvastu on Monday morning during a re-investigation of the smuggling of around 9 kg of gold through vape.
