KCMIT defeated Shankar Dev College by seven wickets at the Army School Ground in Bhaktapur while K&K edged past Kathmandu Model College (KMC) by eight wickets.[break]
Winning the toss, KCMIT elected to field first and bowled out Shankar Dev for 87 runs in 19.2 overs. Suraj Tamang, Bikram Tiwari, Manoj Rawal and Pratik GC claimed two wickets each for KCMIT. Saurav Bhandari (27 runs off 24 balls) was the highest scorer for Shankar Dev.
Chasing the low total, KCMIT reached 90 runs in 11.5 overs losing three wickets. Man-of-the-match Manoj Rawal scored 24 runs off 28 balls and Pratik GC added an unbeaten 20 runs to seal the victory. Kamal Sapkota took two wickets for Shankar Dev.
In the second match of the day, K&K invited KMC to bat first. KMC put up 106/8 in 20 overs as Birodh Ghimire garnered 49 runs off 65 balls. Anshaj Upadhyaya took five wickets for K&K.
K&K met the target of 107 runs in 16.4 overs losing only two wickets. Ramesh Sapkota scored an unbeaten 34 runs off 49 balls while man-of-the-match Upadhyaya added 25 runs off 23 balls.
Host Thames will take on Universal College in the first quarterfinal on Tuesday while KIST will lock horns with Campion College.
