DHANGADHI, Sept 30: UCPN (Maoist) leaders are divided over who should get the tickets for constituencies in the district.

The district leaders have warned the party headquarters in Kathmandu not to nominate the candidates for constituency number 5 and 6. [break]

Speaking to the press at Dhangadhi on Monday, Maoist leaders said, "We will not allow the party to nominate candidates other than Lekh Raj Bhatta and Ramesh Dhami for constituency number 5 and 6, respectively." After they learnt about the party´s intention not to select Bhatta and Dhami as candidates, the district leaders have started agitating against the center.

I am "the official candidate" for constituency number 6 and I should get the ticket, said Ramesh Dhami, adding that he would not accept the candidacy of any body else. He further claimed that more than two-third of the party cadres and voters in the constituency were in his support.

Likewise, speakers at the press meet voiced their support for Bhatta.

They have expressed reservation over the party headquarters´ decision of not selecting Bhatta as candidate for constituency number 5.

Bhatta and Lila Bhandari were elected from the district in the last CA poll.
