Grade 12 exams begin

BHAKTAPUR, June 3: The Grade 12 examinations conducted by the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) have begun in 68 districts from Wednesday.

Examination Controller Santosh Kumar Aryal said that the examination scheduled from May 3 to 14 was postponed due to the 'Gorkha' quake that occurred on April 25.


The examination will conclude on June 14. A total of 672,744 students including 336,088 girls are appearing in the exam, added Aryal.

The HSEB will conduct the grade 12 examination in the seven most quake-hit districts -- Gorkha, Dhading, Nuwakot, Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha and Ramechhap - later.

Similarly, an arrangement has been made in which the students of the most quake-affected districts but now studying in schools in the Kathmandu Valley can attend the examinations, to be conducted in the seven most quake-hit districts, if they miss it.

HSEB Vice-Chairman Chaitanya Sharma said that three medical teams comprising two doctors, a nurse, ambulances, the required equipments and medicines have been deputed during the examination period in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts. RSS
