Former King Gyanendra Shah performed atonement worship with special rituals at Basantapur, Kathmandu. Gyanendra performed the rituals for about half an hour at Makhan Pashupati wishing for peace of the souls of those departed in the recent earthquake. He then observed temples at the Durbar Square amidst slogans from his well-wishers.
