Five held for poaching endangered species

CHITWAN, Feb 26: Police have arrested five persons involved in poaching endangered animals.



They were made public along with two pieces of leopard skin and three pieces of musk at District Police Office (DPO), Chitwan, today.



The arrested have been identified as Mubarak Dewang of Girimi area in Nawalparasai district, Rishi Bahadur Thapa of Barkalpur in Kapilbastu and Pyari Gharti of Nishi VDC-9, Baglung. Jaya Bir Gharti and Subita Gharti of Shivagadhi VDC in Kapilbastu are also among the arrested.



According to Police Inspector Prakash Malla at the DPO, Chitwan, the arrested have been handed over to the District Forest Office, Chitwan for necessary legal action.
