The decision to launch strike was taken by a gathering of entrepreneurs held in Biratnagar.
"We have formed a committee to plan for a series of protest program, Morang Industry Association (MIA) that organized the gathering said, issuing a press release at the end of the program."If the government did not show seriousness to address the problems, we will launch a strong protest."
Entrepreneurs during the meeting rapped the government for its "apathy" in solving the problems faced by the industrial sector. "Doing business during conflict period and in the political transition was already tough. Sixteen hours long power shedding has further added to our woes," the meeting concluded.
The entrepreneurs had tagged load-shedding as the biggest problem facing the industrial sector. "We are supplied with power for just two hours in a shift. How can we pay remuneration for eight hours to the workers?" they asked.
The meeting demanded of the government to supply adequate power to the industries, beef up security and ensure uninterrupted operation of highways, among others.
