Endowment fund for HIV-infected children

CHITWAN, Dec 31: Chitwan Sakriya Samuha (CSS), an organization run by people living with HIV/AIDS, is setting up an endowment fund with the aim of providing support for education and health of HIV-infected children.



According to Dikshya Rimal, executive chief of CSS, the organization has already raised around Rs 2.3 million for the fund. Of the amount, Rs 104,355 was contributed by the HIV-infected people from their monthly salary. [break]



Likewise, the District Development Committee of Chitwan and Rudranath Gauli Smriti Prathisthan have contributed Rs 500,000.



"The children will receive service within a month of its establishment,” said Ramhari Neupane, coordinator of District AIDS Coordination Committee (DACC). CSS said there are 86 HIV-infected children in Chitwan.
