Of the 32 schools, 17 schools will be fined, while registration of other remaining schools will be cancelled, according to DEO.[break]
The DEO was compelled to act tough after the schools paid no heed to the directives issues by the concerned authorities, said Rama Kanta Sharma, District Education Officer.
According to Sharma, the District Education Committee (DEC) has ordered the DEO to slap fines ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 30,000 on 17 schools for running higher level classes without authorization.
Of the 17 schools, some were operating classes from grade one to eight though they were only permitted to run classes up to grade five while others were running classes up to grade 10 though they only had the permission to run classes up to grade eight.
Namuna English Boarding School of Meghauli, North Point English Boarding School of Pithuwa, Fishland English Boarding School of Bagauda, Sakura Academy of Birendranagar, Sirjansil Shiksha Niketan of Kathar and International Academy of Khairahani, among others, were running higher level classes without permission.
Meanwhile, DEC has directed the local administration to shut down seven schools for running without registration and cancel the registration of eight others, informed Sharma.
The schools running without registration in areas like Chainpur, Dahakhani and Piple of the district are Aadarsha Boarding School, Bhuddishanti Boarding School and Himalayan Academy of Chainpur, Shangrila Boarding School of Piple and Divyajyoti Boarding School of Gardash, among others.
Likewise, the registration of eight other schools including Community Boarding School of Bharatpur, Zenith Boarding School of Ratnanagar, and Santi Shiksha Sadan of Darachowk, among others, will be cancelled in Chitwan, said Sharma.
