President of Dear Club, Sijan Gurung, has stopped distribution of all local dailies and weeklies in Tarahara, Hansposa accusing the papers of bias and publishing news against him.
He also charged that newspapers attempted to extort money from him through blackmail. He claimed the ban would be enforced throughout the district though it has initially been started just in Tarahara.
Meanwhile, Sunsari chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists has condemned the ban.
