Far-western Region claimed two gold medals while Western Region bagged one gold during the events held at the semi-covered hall of National Sports Council, Tripureshwar.
In boys´ 47 kg category, Rajendra Rokaya of Far-western Region defeated Arun Dangol of Central Region in the final for gold. Binay Limbu of Eastern Region and Sampurna Gurung of Western Region secured bronze medals.
They boys´ 52 kg category gold went to Prabin Manandhar of Central Region. Manandhar edged past Chandra Budha of Western Region to claim the top spot. Tilak Pun of Western Region and Sanjay Nepali of Far-western Region secured bronze medals.
Apsara Moktan of Central Region claimed gold in the girls´ 40 kg section. Moktan defeated Ayusha Lama of Central Region in the final. Bipana Acharya of Western Region and Sushma Khatri of Central Region had to settle for bronze medals. Similarly, the girls´ 45 kg gold went to Rubiska Tamang of Western Region who edged past Shanta Shrestha of Central Region in the final. Sabina Pokharel of Central and Bimala Nepali of Western Region took bronze medals. Sunita Sunar of Far-western Region bagged gold in the women´s 50 kg section. Sunar defeated Rekha Bista of Western Region in the final. Indramaya Tamang of Eastern Region and Parbati Ghising of Cental Region secured bronze medals.
The championship features competitions in 13 different sports disciplines, of which athletics, cricket, kabaddi, baghchal, wushu and karate events have already been completed by the end of the sixth day. The championship is organized jointly by National Private and Boarding Schools Organization Nepal (N-PABSON), PABSON and Higher Secondary Schools´ Association Nepal (HISSAN) under the aegis of Sports Development Board, National Sports Council.
