BUSINESS BRIEFS: Gham Power's solar-powered streetlights

KATHMANDU, July 28: Gham Power, a company promoting solar lighting system, on Tuesday conducted a successful demonstration of streetlights based on solar technology.



Sandip Giri, CEO of Gham Power, said a significant amount of power could be saved by replacing existing street lights with solar-powered street lights. Solar-power streets lights can be installed for main roads to neighborhood roads, parking lots, or just for security purpose lighting purpose. [break]



“This system needs no wire between the poles as light can be fixed with solar panel in the pole,” Gham Power said in the statement.



Gham Power has installed a streetlight at Sitapaila of Kathmandu to demonstrate its technology.



Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Goyal, CEO of Clean Energy Development Bank, expressed his commitment to support such innovative technologies based on alternative energy.



Moon Pradhan, director of sales and marketing at Gham Power, informed that the ultra birght LED lamps used in solar lighting system consume 10 times less energy than conventional lamps and comes with a warranty of 50,000 hours.





Mobile Tron completes one year



KATHMANDU, July 28: Mobile Tron, one of the authorized retail partners of Nokia phones and its accessories, has completed its first year of operation.



Located at Tamrakar Complex, Shop No 28 and City Center, Shop No. F 28, Mobile Tron sells quality Nokia phones and accessories in reasonable price to the customers, the company said in a statement Wednesday.



On the occasion of completion of one year, Mobile Tron is give away attractive gift hampers to its customer on every Nokia phone purchase for a limited period, the statement added.





Force Construction´s monsoon offer



KATHMANDU, July 28: Force Construction Pvt Ltd, the authorized dealer of L & T Case Equipment Pvt Ltd, has announced special monsoon offer to its customers.

CNI condemns murder of businessmen



KATHMANDU, July 28: Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has condemned the murder of media entrepreneur Devi Prasad Dhital in Dang and businessman Krishna Shrestha in Kathmandu.



“We express deep regrets and sorrow over those incidents,” CNI has said. Issuing a press statement, the confederation has strongly demanded the government to bring the culprits to book. It has also asked the government to provide due compensation to their families.



CNI has further urged the government to improve law and order situation in the country, saying that deteriorating security situation has only frustrated people and business community, affecting overall businesses.
