BIRGUNJ: Industrial town of Birgunj was shut down by demonstrators on Tuesday protesting the murder of young businessman Rajesh Kyal by unidentified gunmen at his home at Adarshanagar Chowk Monday evening.
Meanwhile, Jaya Krishna Goit-led Akhil Tarai Mukti Morcha (ATMM) called journalists over phone to own the murder.
The demonstrators thronged the town´s thoroghfares since morning and burnt tires to protest the death of 25-year old Kyal. Traders have shut down their shops and hit the streets.The situation has become tense due to heavy smoke and slogan-shouting by the protestors.

Police at Birta post fired tear gas shells to disperse the mob when they pelted stones at them. The protestors were on the way to the office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. There is now a heavy presence of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.
The businessmen claimed that Kyal was murdered since he refused to pay the sum that he was asked for. It is believed the ATMM had asked for heavy sum though the exact amount is not known. The traders said that they are living in climate of fear as the local administration has been unable to protect the businessmen and traders and prevent rising crimes against them.
