The Kuti is an important archeological heritage where the Bhuwaneswor Nath Baba in the dense forest at Govardiha VDC- 8 in Deukhuri area of Dang district had attained Siddi (perfection) some 189 years ago in 1879 BS. [break]
The Baba was called Baghnath as he was said to roam the jungle riding on a tiger, said Kuti priest Devisingh Chaudhary.
A big fair takes place in Maghi or Maghe Sanktranti for the worship of Baghnath Baba in the Kuti and devotees come here in Dashain, Tihar, Shivaratri and Chaite Dashain festivals.
Some mango trees planted in nine bigha of land by the Baba can still be seen there and some objects used by Baba are still in the Kuti, including his wooden slippers and bed, and the fire made 191 years ago is still burning.
An eight km graveled road has been built to reach the Kuti through the jungle by the Preservation Committee, chaired by Asharam Chaudhary, which has made travel to the Kuti, easier.
Although a master plan was prepared of Rs. 38 million for its preservation by the Dang DDC after initiative by the Kuti Preservation Committee, it has not been passed as a plan.
It is believed that tourism importance can be increased if this Kuti is preserved by the government, as it is a centre of religious faith.
