Starting April 13, International Recreation Club will offer monthly swimming package at Rs 4,500 for single, Rs 7,500 for couple and Rs 12,500 for family (with 2 children less than 14 years of age). The rates are exclusive of applicable taxes.

Similarly, Hardic Fitness Center has announced monthly package of Rs 4,000 per person (inclusive of taxes). Shaligram Club is offering a monthly package at Rs 7,100 for single and Rs 11,300 per couple. The rates are exclusive of applicable taxes.

People are mostly attracted toward health clubs as they maintain safe and hygienic pools.

“We´re already receiving huge crowd during Saturdays and public holidays,” Rojina Shah of Hardic Fitness Center. The center opened pool for this season about 10 days ago.

Star hotels are also not lagging behind when it comes to attracting people to their pools. Hotel Shangri-La at Lazimpat offers annual swimming package at Rs 14,000 per person and Rs 19,000 per couple. The rates are exclusive of applicable taxes.

“Earlier, only in-house guests used to take a plunge in our pools. Now we are getting local clients as well,” Anil Panta, front office manager at Hotel Shangri-La, said.

Similarly, Club Nirvana at Hotel Yak & Yeti offers daylong swimming for adults at Rs 625 and children at Rs 310.

Most of the hotels offer swimming package inclusive of gymnasium, Jacuzzi, tennis and sauna among others.

“We don´t promote swimming packages. We offer complete package for our guests,” said Surendra C Thakuri, associate director- sales and marketing at Hotel Yak & Yeti.

Earlier, only people from upper strata of the society used to visit star hotels and clubs for swimming. The scenario has changed and clubs say middle-class people accompanied by their children and students have become their major customers.
