APF confiscates fertilizers

LAHAN, Aug 24: Armed Police Force(APF) personnel have confiscated a truckload of chemical fertilizers that was being smuggled to Nepal near Kamala Bridge along the East-West Highway.



The truck, which was heading to Bardibas, has been handed over to District Customs Office, for necessary investigation.



Lal Bahadur Chand, Inspector of APF´s Mirchaiya Office, said the truck was taken into control on a tip off. He said the chemical fertilizers were being smuggled by producing a an invoice of rice purchase.



Chand said the truck was carrying Urea and Di-amunium Phosphate (DAP) imported in the name of Bishnu Traders of Kalyanpur, Saptari. A week ago, APF personnel had confiscated 525 sacks of Urea and DAP.
