77 HIV positive in one village

KANCHANPUR, Aug 26: Seventy-seven people have been found infected with HIV/AIDS in Jhalari VDC of Kanchanpur district.



According to the data of Jhalari VDC, the number of HIV positive women is high compared to men as 33 men and 44 have been found suffering from HIV/AIDS. Six persons infected by HIV/AIDS died in the VDC.



The data shows that the deadly disease was transmitted to women through men who went to Indian cities in search of jobs.



During their stay in India, some of them visited brothels, had unsafe sexual relations and caught the disease.
