Nepali Congress (NC) Lawmaker Gagan Thapa has urged the government to withdraw ordinances and formulate acts to sort out the issue of integration of civil servants at the earliest.

SC orders NTA to allow CG Telecom to operate mobile service

The Supreme Court has ordered the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) to allow the CG Communications (CG Telecom) to operate its mobile service.

Police rescue 49 women from correction home
Forty-nine women have been rescued from a correction home based in Bishnumati of Budhanilkantha municipality-5. The Nepal Police Headquarters said the police intervened in the Kripaghar Correction Center and rescued the women residing there as it was found to be operating against the standard. 

Climate change held responsible for early blooming of rhododendron

Rhododendron -- the national flower of Nepal -- normally blossoms in the months of Fagun-Chaitra (mid-February to mid-April). However, the flower has blossomed earlier in the month of December which is apparently due to climate change effect. 

 

Indian parliament passes controversial Triple Talaq bill amidst opposition walkout

The Lok Sabha on Thursday passed a controversial bill that criminalizes the practice of triple talaq among Muslims, amidst walkout by the Congress and the BJP ally AIADMK as opposition parties attacked the government saying the measure was aimed at political gains in view of the coming general elections.
