KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Unexpected snowfall in mountainous regions of the country is due to westerly wind that entered Nepal yesterday. Across the country, there has been snowfall in mountainous regions of Manag, Mustang, Jumla and Humla, Dolakha. Parts of the southern plains saw hailstorms after rainfall. Kathmandu valley also is experiencing rainfall since early morning.
BIRATNAGAR, Jan 4: Since the last two days, westerly winds have caused dense fog in the tarai districts crippling lives of the common people. Schools, shops and markets have been closed in major areas due to the unbearable cold.
KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Cloudy weather is prevalent throughout the country today due to the influence of the Westerly wind. The Weather Forecasting Division has said the Westerly wind has especially affected the western region.
