KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The last rites of Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Nembang will be held at Pashupati Aryaghat on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Nepal's political circle was shaken early Tuesday as Subash Nembang, the chairman of the Constituent Assembly and the CPN-UML vice chairman, died of a sudden heart attack. He was 70.

Nepali Congress leader Ramchandra Paudel and UML Vice-chair Subash Chandra Nembang are the two candidates in the presidential election slated for March 9. While Paudel has the support of eight parties, so far, Nembang is backed by only the UML. With the presidential election less than a week away, Republica’s Pushpa Bhatta caught up with Nembang for an interview. Excerpts:

ILAM, Nov 26: CPN-UML candidate Subash Chandra Nembang has been elected as a member of House of Representatives (HoR) from Ilam-2. Nembang was elected by defeating Nepali Congress(NC) candidate Dambar Bahadur Khadka with a thin margin of 114 votes.
