KATHMANDU, May 25: The Newar community across the country including in the Kathmandu Valley is celebrating the Sithi Nakha festival today by worshiping the water sources such as wells, traditional water spouts, springs, ponds and taps.  Prior to the worshiping, such water sources were cleaned.

Sithi Nakha is celebrated on the sixth day of the waxing moon, according to the lunar calendar, in the Nepali month of Jestha/Asar. This year it has fallen on Wednesday, June 16.
