The progress, or lack thereof, of the post-earthquake reconstruction has remained the major concern among Nepali people in the last four years since the devastating earthquakes in 2015 killed thousands of people and destroyed hundreds of thousands of houses and other infrastructure. The first two years saw slow progress.

The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) is marking its fourth anniversary tomorrow. It is said the Authority set up after the April 2015 Gorkha Earthquake has completed 83 percent of the reconstruction works related to the private houses and other sectors, and the remaining work is ongoing in an expeditious manner.
