BIRATNAGAR, August 13: Torrential rainfalls since Friday evening which triggered several floods and landslides and claimed dozens of lives in the eastern parts of the country have finally stopped, offering some respite to the victims. As there is no more heavy rain, the water level has started receding in the flooded areas.

ITAHARI, July 27: The water flow in Saptakoshi River has started receding. The water flow at the river was measured 238,510 cusec on Wednesday afternoon.

TAPLEJUNG, July 10: Although the water level in the artificial lake formed after the landslide blocked Tamor River at Mitlung in Phurumbu VDC has started to recede, locals are still living in fear as mudslides have continued to hit the area.

SINDHUPALCHOWK, July 7: Locals of Tatopani VDC in Sindhupalchowk district are still gripped by fear of flooding although the water level in the Bhotekoshi River receded on Thursday.
