JANAKPURDHAM, Nov 16: The Jayanagar-Kurtha railway service is to be closed for four days beginning from Thursday in view of the voting for the elections to the Member of the House of Representatives and Province Assembly taking place on November 20.

KATHMANDU, April 2: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, have jointly inaugurated the operation of the railway service from New Delhi, India. The prime ministers of the two neighbors flagged off and inaugurated the service operation amidst a special ceremony held in the Indian capital.

With the entering into force of the LoE, all authorized cargo train operators which includes public and private container train operators, automobile freight train operators, special freight train operators or any other operator authorized by Indian Railways will be able to utilize the Indian railway network to carry Nepal's containers and other freight – both bilateral between India and Nepal or third country from the Indian ports to Nepal.

BIRATNAGAR, Nov 5: Locals in Budhangar, a town near the Nepal – India border, were excited since early morning on Sunday. The much-awaited Bathnaha - Katahari railway service was expected to kick off on the day. Though a train engine was to reach the town on a test drive, locals were overjoyed when they reached the Budhanagar railway station, some of them were carrying flowers and garlands in hand.
